My brother was recently here in Dalian China for a short vacation. Here's a quick summary of the places we went. For anyone who wants a quick introduction of some good Dalian restaurants, this might be a decent place to start:

- Finally arrived after a headache in Beijing.
Friday, July 20
- Went to Zhongshan Square, the heart of downtown Dalian.
- Had lunch set at Japanese Teppanyaki restaurant, Dayu, just off Zhongshan Square.
- Brought our dog Pepe to get his haircut at Annie's Pet Salon, at Peace Plaza.
- Made a quick trip out to Xinghai Square, reputedly the biggest square in Asia, depending on who you ask.
- Stopped in to Ancestor Japanese Barbeque Restaurant (Pangu) for dinner.
- On the way home, picked up a few XinJiang Yangrou chuanr (aka lamb-on-a-stick).
- Headed out to the east side of Dalian to the 27 square clothes and fabric market. Made 2 suits.
- Stopped in to Victory Square on the way back. Lunch at the Big Apple Restaurant near the Newmart Shopping Center.
- Did some shopping in the underground plaza.
- Went to Jinshatan beach.
- Went to the Shang-gri-la Hotel buffet
- Checked out the Russian Street.
- Had an amazing lunch at Le Cafe Igosso, near Labor Park.
- Had a drink at the Ofoun Cafe, in the Itokin Shopping Center
- Late dinner at Mengshanshui Japanese Barbeque Restaurant near Wusi Square.
- Long afternoon of shopping at the Train Market behind the train station.
- Sat around in All's Well Cafe for the better part of the evening.
- Went and bought Dalian-Beijing bus tickets.
- Made a visit to Labour Park.
- Quick lunch at Abashi Curry, just off Zhongshan Square.
- All-you-can-eat Tuesday buffet at the Olive Garden Italian Restaurant.
- Headed out to 27 Square Clothes Market to pick up suits.
- Went to Metro Shopping Center to buy materials for our Spaghetti Dinner.
- Cooked Spaghetti Dinner.
- Made a trip to the Forest Zoo.
- Had an amazing meal and some gi-normous beers at the Bavarian Beerhouse next to I55 Cafe.
- Walk of some of that food with a quick jaunt to Renmin Square.
- Took a pee at Noah's Ark Bar.
- I55 Cafe for Coffee
- Beer Festival. Drank too much...
- Dong Lai Shun Hot Pot and Peking Duck Restaurant for some Chinese food, finally!
- Amici Cafe for breakfast.
- Bought some shoes in Mykal Shopping Center.
- Played pool with near Tianjin Street.
- Too lazy to go out in the evening, so we ordered some food from Pizzaboy.
- Did some last minute shopping before heading to Beijing.
- Took an overnight bus to Beijing.
