I've AJAXified on the Front Page

With an uptick in posts, how useful is it to have an AJAX widget under each of the 'latest' columns on the front page? That means you can browse more content faster with less page refreshes, by just clicking on the pager under each block to scroll it's contents along, so it seems to make sense. It degrades reasonably gracefully in the lack of Javascript being enabled. Any comments welcomed.

AJAX widgets

Hi,

It's definitely an advantage to be able to scroll through more content without a page refresh. How does this affect SEO?

BTW, How does one go about sending an email to the administration at http://www.daliandalian.com ?

Thanks.

I have no idea how this

I have no idea how this affects SEO. SEO should follow user experience, techniques that do not focus on user experience are probably going wrong somewhere, regardless of SEO fine tuning. If you've some tips please share them.

You, or anyone, can send an email by using the http://daliandalian.com/contact contact link on the top of the page.

Useage of Admin account.

My feeling towards using the admin account for comments, page related posts maybe practical, but it isn't very personable, especially given the default icon. I feel dalianxpat fell too far into this trap of moderator1 mod2 mod3 etc. What do you think?

Regards,

Alastair

I agree, and have changed it

I agree, and have changed it to me.

I think it'd be worth posting something on who can do what in terms of the day-to-day running of the site, as much of the DalianDalian.com site does not rely on moderators or administrators to do any moderating, the system should be largely automatic and accessible by all at the same level. An admin just makes the system remains automatic/the software stays up.

I like the way this site adds

I like the way this site adds ref=no follow to posts by visitors, but not to posts by members. Must keep the spam down.
