Nice BBQ, Inexpensive in an Expensive Area
Inexpensive not meaning cheap and nasty, pretty tasty in fact.
Dalian has many Japanese BBQ type places. Straw mushrooms wrapped in bacon then barbecued on a stick, marinated chicken on a stick, asparagus on a stick. Sticks were about 4 kuai, several pieces of meat on one. Noodle soups were around 20 kuai. Draft Asahi was 8 kuai for a large glass, giving this place cheap beer while neighbouring restaurants and bars are triple that, plus.
Majority Japanese clientele the night I went. Menu in English, Chinese and Japanese. Decor is a decade old and the building seemed at least 50 years old, so eat here before it gets redeveloped!
I will go back, probably regularly.
