Great Pizza, great drink list. Good tunes. Brooklyn is a very new bar, but is already a front-runner for the best bar in the city. They're closed on Mondays, but are open 5:30pm to 2am Tuesday to Sunday (or when everybody leaves)

A Dalian Winner!
Probably Dalian's best pizza, 60 kuai for a big one. Meatloaf wrapped in bacon 40 RMB and a very professionally friendly owner and staff make this a winner. Beers from 15 kuai and strong cocktails from 30. Shame they don't open during the day time.
Because beans.
I don't need drama with my pizza
I'll give this place 3 stars for almost being great. Been there twice and had mixed experiences. The first time I went with my wife and had the pizza and onion rings. I found the crust to be a bit too burnt and too greasy on top. I guess I would expect this from a dive pizza place in New England. I know, that sounds bad, but it was a thousand times better than most places I've had pizza in China!
The second time, I went with my wife along with a friend and had a better pizza along with an incredible cheeseburger (shared). I asked the waitress about mustard and the bartender (owner?) started arguing with her in Chinese because she didn't really understand what I was asking for, and then with my wife. WTF?! This was turning into a yelling match. I just wanted mustard. Finally he asked me, "Do you mean mustard?" I said yes but asked why he needed to argue with the waitress and my wife in Chinese when he could have just spoken to me....just got a dismissive look.
I Love NY Pizza in Shenyang has far better pizza...too far away for regular stops unfortunately.
Won't be back.... treat your customers well and don't argue with your staff in front of customers. Probably things aren't always like that there and I know others won't agree with my opinions but all the more space for everyone else without me and my friends there!
Brooklyn Bar and Restaurant
As a regular customer and native New Yorker of 50 years,I thought someone should clarify a few points about the bar/restaurant.
First, I agree the Pizza is certainly more authentic New york pizza.and the best in Dalian, but may come out a little burnt on the edges. I believe this is due to not turning it enough or if take away they take it out a little late, but note that in checking Pizza it is the top and underside that shows whether it is burnt.
Oil- NY pizza is oily and usually drips constantly, (be careful of your clothes).
Regarding treatment of customers and employees - On my first trip to Brooklyn a waitress asked if I wanted Ketchup on my Pizza and I remarked "not in NY".
The owner took the young Lady downstairs and explained this as not acceptable, no yelling, no argument and no further discussion except for an apology for asking. Of course mustard has always been a little confusing in English to the Chinese. The owner is American born Chinese and certainly has no problem with the concept, so I do not think you were speaking to him.
Other foods almost all excellent, but of course this is to taste and personal opinion.
Lastly, you should use your name in your writing so people can see and respond more personally.
I did receive an apology
I did receive an apology email from the owner (who is not the guy behind the bar), and I appreciated that. There was still a denial that the bartender was arguing but I still have to respect that he would take the time to write a nice letter.
I do enjoy my New York pizza, along with the grease that comes with it!
As far as using my name in my writing, I can't see anything wrong with maintaining some degree of anonymity provided that I'm not using it to act like a jerk or make false statements. Everything I said was true, and some of that is my own personal opinion.
