Hotwind Clothing Store
Hotwind is a small clothes outlet in the Xi'an Lu Mykal shopping mall. You can find it on the west side of the 1st floor (i.e. on the back, if you enter from the front Xi'an Lu side.
This is a good place to get some brand-name imported clothes from Japan or Korea. Whether they're real or not, I can't say, but they look good. I especially like their selection of baseball hats, (example: quicksilver, corona, titleist, or various US college or pro sports hats).
Nevermind if their name sounds like a fart.
It's a decent place to buy stuff.

Mykal Shopping Center
Located at the intersection of Xi'an Road and Huang He Road, Mykal lies smack dab in the middle of a growing Dalian mini-center. There's another location at Victory Square as well.
They have macaroni and cheese in the basement, as well as olive oils, herbs and some other foreign products.

Victory Plaza / Shengli Guangchang / 胜利广场
Active? This is the place. Too cool to be called a square, Victory Plaza is across from Qingyiwa Bridge and just down the road from Zhongshan and Youhao Squares. Look for the Hard Rock Cafe-style giant guitar and Saxophone near Zhongshang Lu.
Dalian's train station is right behind Victory Plaza, as are the main post office and the light rail station.
